He was born in Algeria, and at age 18 he came to Paris at age 18 to seek his fortune.
He has been a longtime employee of the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-Lits (C.I.W.L.), and well-known Conductor to regular travelers on the Orient Express.
He has saved his money and looks forward to returning to Algiers.
